Meet Sharon Collins — Photographer, Storyteller, Collaborator

Helping organisations, schools, and small businesses tell meaningful stories through imagery.

My Approach

I approach every project with a focus on storytelling, strategy, and connection.

Before picking up the camera, I take the time to understand who you are, what you stand for, and the impact you’re working towards. This allows me to create imagery that not only looks beautiful, but feels aligned with your message and connects with the people you’re trying to reach.

My work is collaborative by nature. Whether you come with a clear vision or need guidance shaping one, I work alongside you to create imagery that reflects your values, your people, and your purpose.

Often, this goes beyond a single shoot. I work with many clients over time, building image libraries that can be used across campaigns, reports, websites, and everyday communication.

The result is a collection of images that feel cohesive, intentional, and genuinely representative of your work.

Who I Work With

I work with organisations and small businesses who care deeply about the impact they’re making - on their communities, their people, and the environment.

Many of the clients I feel most aligned with are purpose-driven teams, not-for-profits, and community organisations working towards meaningful change. Whether through sustainability initiatives, environmental education, or more ethical and inclusive ways of doing business, their work is grounded in something bigger than profit.

I’m inspired by organisations leading this work globally, like Patagonia and National Geographic Society, who use storytelling to connect people with the world around them.

Closer to home, I’ve loved collaborating with Geelong Sustainability, and I’m drawn to organisations working across community, conservation, and education spaces.

I do my best work with people who value collaboration, those looking for a creative partner to help tell their story, document their impact, and create imagery that genuinely connects with their audience.

My clients understand that strong visual storytelling is an investment. They value strategy, creativity, and the time it takes to create something meaningful, and they trust the process.

If you’re committed to making a positive impact, and you’re looking for imagery that reflects that work with honesty and intention, we’ll likely be a great fit.

My Background

My path into photography hasn’t been a straight line, and that’s shaped the way I see and tell stories.

Before becoming a photographer, I worked in education, including as an EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher. That experience taught me how to listen deeply, look beyond the surface, and understand the many different ways people communicate, connect, and make meaning.

It’s something I carry into every project.

I’m naturally drawn to the stories behind the work: the people, the purpose, and the impact that isn’t always immediately visible. Rather than following trends or overly curated imagery, my approach is grounded in authenticity and connection.

Over time, this has led me to work more closely with organisations and businesses focused on sustainability, community, and education. These are spaces where storytelling isn’t just about visibility, it’s about awareness, engagement, and creating meaningful change.

I believe imagery can do more than represent a brand. It can help people understand their role in the world, connect with others, and see what’s possible when we work together.

That’s the kind of work I’m drawn to, and the kind of stories I’m here to tell.

Every photoshoot starts with understanding what matters most to you - your story, your people, and your purpose.

If you’re looking to document your work, build a library of meaningful imagery, or explore how storytelling can support your organisation or business, I’d love to hear from you.

I’ve had the privilege of working with organisations and businesses across community, education, and purpose-driven spaces, including:
